New Words
Zach has been picking up a lot of words lately. He started with Momma, and Daddy. Then doggie, hi, bye bye and Bella. Now he is also saying bah-bah for bottle, block, book, and he loves to point to himself and say, "Zach!"- which sounds more like "Dat," but we know what he means. :-) It's fun to see him starting to communicate and we can tell that he understands a lot more than he can say. I'm amazed at how fast they grow up... Chris
Our new house
As of Friday, we have a contract on the house on Amarillo Ave. We had the inspection done today, and things look good. Some minor stuff, but no big red flags. Thanks for your prayers!

House we're looking at
Here is the house we have made an offer on. We don't have it yet, but we are hoping to get it in the next couple of days. We'll keep you posted.

First Steps
Zach took his first two steps today! We were at our friends Chris & Jennifer's house for supper. He was standing at the coffee table and turned around and looked at Liza. He then reached out, took two steps and grabbed on to Liza. We all clapped and cheered, but I don't think he even knew what happened. :-)

Tragedy at Virginia Tech
I'm sure everyone has heard about the terrible shootings that happened at Virginia Tech on Tuesday. We have a large CCC movement there, and we've been hearing updates from them. I thought I'd pass along these prayer requests from our staff at Virgina Tech:
"An official list still has not been completely released, but by word of mouth and through other sources, here is how our students were touched by this tragedy:
-4 students who were involved with Cru at Virginia Tech were killed in the classroom shootings.
-The student who found the 2 bodies in the dorm room shooting was a student involved with Cru
-We have a student who was one of only 2 to be able to walk out of his classroom without being shot. As you can imagine, he is very shaken up after witnessing what he did.
We are trying to gather our students together in groups to help them talk this out, pray, cry, anything that will help them process what they are going through. We would ask that you would pray that students don’t isolate themselves. In times like this, it is a natural thing to try to do, but it is not helpful for them in the long run. Please pray that they talk things through with their friends. Pray also for our staff – they are doing pretty well given the circumstances, but they are tired emotionally and physically. Pray also for wisdom with dealing with the media – they are swarming any student who saw anything, and it may not be the best for students to get put in the spotlight right now. Lastly, pray for our kids and the other children of Blacksburg. They were out of school today and will be tomorrow, and there were several professors who were parents who were killed or injured.

I don't know what that spells
The other day I read a post from my sister in-law, Angie. You can read it by clicking here. She was talking about Morgan trying to spell. I thought of that yesterday when Isabella, Zach and I were at Dunkin Donuts. When we were done, she took the trash over to the trash can and put the stuff in. She then looked at the door on the trash can that said "THANK YOU." She put her finger on each letter, and said "T-U-V-W-X A-B-C" she then ran over to me and said, "I don't know what that spells!" I, and the other folks eating donuts, had to laugh.

Wonderful News
Tonight we got a contract on our house! We're excited, but now it's crazy to find a new one quick and get everything going so we can move in between all our summer traveling. We'd appreciate your prayers for all to go smoothly!
Camping
This weekend was another "New Parents Class" camping trip. We had been planning to go for a long time, and even bought a new tent for the occasion. Then, on Friday, I got sick with strep throat and could not go. But, Liza being exceptionally brave, decided to go anyway. She packed up the kids Saturday morning, and drove to Kerville (about 2 hours away) for the trip. They had a great time. The other dads there helped her quickly set up the tent and they had a good, if not very restful, time.
Rides
The other day Isabella decided to get in to her little stroller. Zach saw that, and decided that it would be great to push her. I didn't think he would be able to do it, but sure enough, he pushed her all the way in to the laundry room. After I got her turned around, he then pushed her back.

After that, Zach climbed in and took a turn. They had a great time.
Third Day
Today we were going to Sam's (Isabella, Zach and Chris) and Chris Tomlin was once again on the radio. She said, "Hey- this is Chris Tomlin!" and started singing along. Then she stopped, and said, "Daddy, I want to listen to Third Day." I can't believe she 1, knows who these Christian artists are, and 2, has a preference! I guess I should be thankful that she's not requesting Justin Timberlake... ;-)
